I’ve heard about Ziki in several occasions, so I decided to try it. I’ve just created my profile: I can publish articles in a blog style, and articles from my blog have been automatically added.
Ziki suggests a group of other Ziki users with similar interests, so I could contact them. I can obviously invite my friends, and invitations are sent via email.
On the right side of this blog you can see a button which Ziki has provided me.
What I miss? Presence information, a way to easily communicate with my contacts (IM and VoIP would be appreciated) and perhaps an application for mobile phones, to publish content on the way or just staying in touch with my friends even if I’m not at the PC.
I’ve sent a text message to a friend of mine, but the message has been delivered via email… I didn’t like it so much, because I don’t want to bother my friends with IM that actually creates an email. I was looking for the notifications options section, but suddenly the language switched to French. Now, I’m Italian, I speak English and (a just sufficient) Spanish, I can barely read Portuguese and maybe understand written French, but I think I’ll try again another time, hoping English or Italian were available.

I am sorry that you have experienced a involuntary language switch.

Hi Giacomo,
Your post is very interesting. Have you noticed the direct links to contact members throught Google Talk and Skype ?
We know that our message system is using emails. It’s goal isn’t to be an IM system at all, it is just a simple way to contact people through their profile.
Regarding the language switching sometimes, our developper is working hard on it.
Translations are upcoming….But we are waiting for the release of our new interface before translating.

You can add your skype or any IM directly on your ziki contact information.
Check mine here (http://my.ziki.com/jfruiz) for example, on the upper right side of the black rectangle.
